Lucy wants the world to know about Restless Legs Syndrome. It’s one of her #BrainLifeGoals

Hi, I’m Lucy Hoekstra. I live in The Netherlands and have suffered from RLS for many years, during which I have encountered ignorance from doctors and the public at large about this disease. Now I want to do something about it!

To increase awareness of Restless Legs Syndrome, I am going to walk no less than 573 kilometers over 26 days. Walking through the northern part of The Netherlands and Germany, I will finish in Krusbjerg, Denmark, on September 23rd – International RLS Day.

I’m delighted that my campaign is supported by the Dutch and German RLS patient organisations, as well as by the European Alliance for Restless Legs Syndrome (EARLS), a European umbrella group which supports and advocates on behalf of RLS patients groups across the continent. In addition, I’m proud to say my walk is being supported by a #BrainLifeGoals Project Grant from the European Federation of Neurological Associations (EFNA).

I need your support, be it through a donation or doing some of the walk with me - 573km is a long way to walk and it would be great to have some people join me and support me.
